Burrito Truck, Anyone?
March 21, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Who wants to walk down to the burrito truck with me? Here in Olympia it is a phenomenon. There are no decent Mexican Restaurants, solamente this excellent Burrito truck parked off on the side of the road with one broken/sorry looking picnic table. I’d be surprised if anyone were able to name a better burrito or taco though. And I’ve lived in a lot of places, eaten a lot of burritos and tacos. I know they’re full of lard, but even that doesn’t stop this vegetarian from eating there 7 days a week, afterall it’s probably cheaper than buying groceries. Tacos are $1.35 and burritos start at $4.50. They are very good about making their tacos y burritos for those who are “vegan” (just don’t kid yourself about the lard, okay?) and or allergic to dairy, and they have avocado! They’re tacos are authentic, folded in two soft corn tortillas. Delicious! And the salsa they make has a wonderful smokey flavor. So join me at the burrito truck (afterall it is sunny!), once you go truck you’ll never go back.

Locke and Key #1 and #2 by Joe Hill IDW Publishing
March 20, 2008 · 1 Comment
I Just finished Reading Locke and Key #2 written by Joe Hill, with art by Gabriel Rodriguez. If you don’t know, Joe hill is the son of Stephen King . Joe hill is his pen name, I think his first name is joe however. The one Thing I like most about this book is the quality. I know I should be talking about the story but I can’ get over how nice their books look. The art is fantastic inside and out. The covers themselves are worth the $3.99 cover price. When the father of a family Rendell Locke is Murdered by psychotic Sam Lesser the Locke Family Moves into the Key House in Love Craft Massachusetts. The Key House is an ancestral family home that is also Haunted, how lucky for us horror fans. Issue number 1 is a horror fest that tapers off into a nice story telling pace. Issue nummber two continues that pace bringing us deeper into the mysteries of Key house. This is definately the best Horror series in comics right now. -The RED FOX REPORT ! ![]()

Happy Anniversary.
March 20, 2008 · 1 Comment
It’s rather stunning that we couldn’t find a good video of one of today’s protests online. So we have opted for a couple of static images instead. If you happen to frequent these gatherings, start taking video with your iphone or your cell or something. We need more documentation and more proof that there is a strong opposition to the War in Iraq.
Props goes out to those who made it out, who showed their presence and opposition. So what color goes with the 5th Anniversary? Blood red?

Review of Warren Ellis’s Black Summer
March 19, 2008 · Leave a Comment
I really like what Avatar Press is publishing these days, basically taking top notch comics writers and paying them to write what they want. Black Summer is brought to you by the talented duo of Warren Ellis and Juan Jose Ryp. The basic premise is a band of super heroes is reunited when one of them kills a very George Bush type president. This book has caused some controversy , but most comic fans enjoy that. I like that the anti heroes get their powers from suits that remind me of X-O Manowar . The character design for this comic is off the hook and is very slick and modern. The story is full throttle action, peppered with witty dialog ,and layered with compelling plot that includes super hero colateral damage. This is my favorite title right now, and I can’t wait for the last issue to come out. I don’t want to spoil anything till after it ends, then I will update this review, so check back. – VOE

Voltron for President
March 18, 2008 · Leave a Comment
If you don’t already know who voltron is, he is a cartoon character from the 80’s. Voltron is a Robot comprised of 5 other robot lions red, black, yellow, green and blue. I am Looking to score some of these toys because I think they are so cool. He might be the only one who can save us now. It is my long held belief that voltron is the strongest being in the universe. Does anyone disagree with me? youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1uS5b8aQ6z8&hl=en]

Barack Obama gets white boy vote.
March 18, 2008 · Leave a Comment
I was reading today on CNN that Obama is stealing away the white boy vote from hilary. I’m not suprised by this at all because Barack Obama is a pimp. White boys have always respected that Billy Dee Williams style. Brothers in suits have been inspiring white boys to dress better in the pages of GQ and Details magazine for quite some time. I myself feel very compelled to vote for Obama because I like the way he keeps his cooland everybody knows how much harder it can be for us white boys to achieve this. Aside from Steve Mcqueen most of us wouldn’t know what cool was if it wasn’t for Black people. I’m not voting for Obama because he is black or because he’s a man. I’m voting for Obama because he’s cool. -Melvin Milkerston III esq.

Go get hit by The Trucks
March 18, 2008 · Leave a Comment
Last night I went to see (or rather stumbled off the diner floor after a long day of serving- into the bar at the reef) The trucks and the Narrows. It was literally and hands down one of the best shows I have ever been to. Partly due to the fact that I was able to be looking each player in the eye, bumping their microphone stand as I girated, and also because of the sheer energy those ladies put into a show. It was ridiculously loud, terribly cramped and I loved every moment of it. So, my recommendation to you would be, go get hit by the trucks, or you run the chance of dying a slightly less happy person. I have to admit that I was less excited by the recorded version of the band (you’re surprised?) as I felt that the drums were significantly toned down as compared to the live version and it just wasn’t as loud. I’m hoping that is due to some fluke with listening to them on myspace and that I will find that owning the CD has a much different outcome. We shall see. The whole experience brought me back to an intense yearning to be involved in music again in one form or another. Whether that be in a band or as a DJ. This we also shall see. Keep your fingers crossed, and then press down firmly on your clit, then rock that va-jayjay til you know you’ve hit it right.
